Authentic Italian Restaurant, Woking

Food, Wine, Hospitality

The key aim of Café Class restaurant is to provide real authentic Italian food with a menu that has the staple favourites but one which also embraces seasonally available foods and which appeals to customers.

At Café Class we are always listening to our customers and so the menu can range from Pasta and Pizza to include Lobster, Oysters, Calamari, fresh fish, a range of salads and dishes to satisfy the most ardent carnivores and vegetarians alike.

To bring you a true taste of Italy our cooked meats and cheeses are directly sourced from Italian producers and our bread, ciabatta and focaccia is freshly baked in our own delicatessen in nearby Horsell.

Wine

Food is a shared passion, but this is complemented by the available choices of wine.
Domenico and Filipa travel throughout Italy sampling the wines and ingredients at source.
There is the Ciu Ciu Pecorino Le Merlattaie, a refreshing white wine made from the Pecorino grape, a variety that became almost extinct in the 1980's until it was brought back from the brink by a dedicated group of wine growers in the Le Marche.

The Pecorino grape (not to be confused with Pecorino Romano cheese) comes from the word pecora or 'sheep' and is so-named because it is said that the sheep enjoy eating the grapes while grazing the rolling hills of Le Marche.

Then there is the red, an example being the hugely impressive Tignanello 2013 – Marchesi Antinori

This single vineyard wine is widely heralded as the grandfather of all Supertuscans, breaking the mould for production in the Chianti region with numerous ‘firsts’. It was the first Sangiovese wine to be aged in small oak barrels, the first modern red wine to use the Bordeaux varieties in the blend, and among the first red wines from the Chianti Classico area to be produced without any white grapes at all.

As well as an accommodating wine list with Tufo, Falanghina (simply divine with Pasta Porchettona ), Champigny, Dolcetto D'Alba and an equally enterprising menu, the restaurant boasts a gourmet experience in the Antipasti menu.

AntiPasti

The Antipasti menu bombards your palate with a range of flavours across 15 dishes which will take you two weeks of dining elsewhere to sample.

Cheese

As for the Gorgonzola Mascarpone cheese, the Pecorino Romano or the Caciocavallo….well perhaps on another visit, but a glass of limoncello to finish of the evening is a must.
