Prosciutto

True Prosciutto
"True" prosciutto comes from Italy, though other versions of prosciutto are made elsewhere. The most famous prosciutto hams are Prosciutto crudo di Parma from Parma and  Prosciutto crudo di San Daniele from the San Daniele del Friuli area, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The word 'prosciutto' is the Italian for ham and the word "crudo" incidentally is "raw" though this is a misleading term as the ham is salted and air-dried for between 8 to 24 months.

Parma Ham is generally cut and eaten as is, it comes pre-sliced for you in the supermarkets, but we will cut it to the thickness you desire. We serve it with salads, melon of course and grissini sticks,  but also add it to sauces to enhance the flavour of the dish.
